Rolls-Royce Phantom Front Control Arms & Ball Joints
We stock the genuine Rolls-Royce Phantom front upper left control arm (31126762825) and right (31126762826) at $870 each, the upper control arm ball joint (31120414733) at $450, and two front lower control arm sets — part 0409267 at $950 and part 31122180523 at $1,282. The Phantom uses a double-wishbone front suspension layout with separate upper and lower control arms on each side. Control arm wear presents as clunking over bumps, front-end wander or uneven tire wear. The two lower control arm set part numbers correspond to different model year specifications — always confirm with your VIN before ordering. We can also source front suspension bush kits covering all control arm mounting bushings, which are a common service item on higher-mileage Phantom VIIs.
What Suspension Setup Does the Rolls-Royce Phantom Use?
The Rolls-Royce Phantom VII (2003–2017) uses a fully independent air suspension system with double-wishbone geometry at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear — all four corners use air springs with electronically controlled adaptive dampers. This is the system that delivers the famous "Magic Carpet Ride." The Phantom VIII (2017–present) carries the same air suspension philosophy but adds active roll stabilization with an electro-hydraulic system that actively counteracts body lean through corners.
Does the Rolls-Royce Phantom Share the Same Suspension as the BMW X5?
Not. The Rolls-Royce Phantom VII was developed during the period of BMW ownership of Rolls-Royce and shares some engineering DNA with BMW's platform technology, but the Phantom uses its own bespoke aluminium spaceframe chassis rather than a shared BMW platform. Some suspension components — particularly ball joints, bushings and certain control arm hardware — use BMW part numbers or BMW-sourced components, which is why you will see BMW-format part numbers on some Phantom suspension parts. However, the Phantom's suspension geometry, air spring setup and ride tuning are entirely unique to the Phantom and are not directly interchangeable with any BMW X5 components. Always use Phantom-specific part numbers when ordering — call us on +1 845 595 9822 with your VIN to confirm the correct parts.
