Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow I & II & Bentley T1, T2 Parts
Exotic Car Parts is your specialist source for genuine, new old stock and quality aftermarket spare parts for the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow I (1965–1977), Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II (1977–1980), Bentley T1 (1965–1977) and Bentley T2 (1977–1980). The Silver Shadow was the most produced Rolls-Royce in history with over 30,000 units built — and its innovative engineering, particularly the high-pressure hydraulic system shared with the Bentley T Series, means that maintaining these cars correctly requires specialist knowledge and correct specification parts. Whether you need hydraulic components, LHM fluid system parts, brake parts, service items or engine components, our team is here to help. Call us on +1 845 595 9822 seven days a week.
Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow & Bentley T Series Parts Catalog
Our current inventory for the Silver Shadow I, Silver Shadow II, Bentley T1 and T2 covers the following categories. We are actively expanding this catalog — if you don't see the part you need, contact us directly as we may be able to source it.
Brakes & High-Pressure Hydraulics — The Silver Shadow introduced one of the most sophisticated braking and suspension systems of its era — a high-pressure hydraulic system operating at 2,500 psi that controlled both the brakes and the self-leveling suspension. This system uses LHM mineral fluid — not conventional brake fluid — and requires specialist knowledge to maintain correctly. We stock hydraulic accumulators, hydraulic spheres, brake calipers, brake pads, brake discs, hydraulic pumps, pressure relief valves and related components for both the Silver Shadow and Bentley T Series.
Service Parts — Oil filters, air filters, fuel filters, gaskets, seals, spark plugs and all routine maintenance components for the Silver Shadow and T Series. The 6.75-liter V8 engine fitted to all Silver Shadow and T Series models from 1970 onwards is a proven, long-lived unit when correctly maintained — we stock the service parts to keep it running correctly.
Additional categories currently being added to this catalog include Engine Parts, Cooling System, Fuel System, Exhaust, Electrical, Suspension, Steering, Body & Fenders, Interior & Trim, Wheels & Tires, and Windshield & Glass. Contact us for any part not yet listed.
History of the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow & Bentley T Series
The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow represented the most radical departure in Rolls-Royce engineering since the pre-war era. Launched in October 1965, it replaced the separate-chassis Silver Cloud with a fully integrated unitary body structure — a first for Rolls-Royce — and introduced a range of advanced engineering features that set the standard for luxury car technology in the late 1960s and 1970s.
Most significantly, the Silver Shadow pioneered a sophisticated high-pressure hydraulic system developed in partnership with Citroën, operating at 2,500 psi to power four-wheel disc brakes and a self-leveling independent suspension system front and rear. This replaced the drum brakes and live rear axle of the Silver Cloud and transformed the Silver Shadow's handling and braking capability. The system requires LHM mineral hydraulic fluid — using conventional brake fluid will destroy the system seals — and regular maintenance of the accumulators and hydraulic spheres is essential to safe operation.
The Silver Shadow's 6.75-liter V8 engine — an enlarged version of the unit introduced in the Silver Cloud II — was initially fitted with twin SU carburetors, later replaced by a single Solex unit and eventually by a Bosch fuel injection system on later Shadow II models for the US market. The GM Turbo-Hydramatic 400 three-speed automatic transmission was standard on all US-specification cars. With over 30,000 Silver Shadows produced across both generations, it remains the most numerous Rolls-Royce model ever built and an increasingly collectible classic.
The Bentley T1 and T2 are mechanically identical to the Silver Shadow — sharing the same platform, hydraulic system, engine and transmission — differing only in badging, grille design and minor trim details. Parts compatibility between the two models is almost complete, and our listings specify exact fitment across all variants.
The Silver Shadow II arrived in 1977 with revised rack and pinion steering replacing the earlier recirculating ball system, a front air dam, and updated interior fittings. The Silver Shadow II continued until 1980 when it was replaced by the Silver Spirit. Long wheelbase versions — the Silver Wraith II — were produced alongside both Shadow generations, as was the Corniche convertible and coupe which shared the Shadow's mechanical underpinnings.
Order Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow & Bentley T Series Spare Parts
Exotic Car Parts ships genuine, new old stock and quality aftermarket parts for the Silver Shadow I, Silver Shadow II, Bentley T1 and T2 worldwide from our New York warehouse. We supply owners, restorers and marque specialists across the US, UK, Europe, Australia and the Middle East.
The Silver Shadow's high-pressure hydraulic system is the most critical and most commonly misunderstood maintenance area on these vehicles. If you are sourcing hydraulic components — accumulators, spheres, pumps or valves — please contact us with your chassis number so we can confirm the correct specification. Using incorrect parts or incorrect fluid in this system can cause brake failure.
Fitment on Silver Shadow models can vary by chassis number, model year and market specification — particularly between early Shadow I cars, later fuel-injected US-specification models, and Silver Shadow II variants. We strongly recommend contacting our team with your chassis number before ordering. Call +1 845 595 9822 seven days a week, message us on WhatsApp, or email joe@exoticcarparts.com.
