Front & Rear Brake Pads — Silver Shadow & Bentley T Series
We stock the genuine front brake pads for the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, Corniche and Bentley T Series (3Z0698151E) at $450 and the rear brake pad set (3Z0698151D) at $220. The Silver Shadow uses four-wheel disc brakes operated by the high-pressure Girling hydraulic system — not a conventional brake master cylinder. Brake pads should always be replaced in axle sets and always with the correct specification pad — the hydraulic system operates at very high pressure and incorrect pads will affect pedal feel and braking performance. We also stock brake discs, hydraulic accumulator spheres, caliper seal kits, hydraulic hoses and all associated brake hardware.
What Brake Fluid Does a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Use?
The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow does not use conventional brake fluid. It uses a mineral-based hydraulic oil — specifically Duckhams Q LHM or equivalent LHM mineral fluid — in a high-pressure Girling hydraulic circuit that operates the brakes, self-leveling suspension and power steering simultaneously from a common reservoir. This system runs at up to 2,500 psi and must never under any circumstances have conventional DOT brake fluid added to it. DOT fluid will destroy the system's rubber seals within minutes, causing total brake and suspension failure. If you are not certain which fluid your car uses, the reservoir cap on a correctly maintained Silver Shadow will be marked for LHM fluid. We stock LHM fluid, Girling hydraulic filters and all hydraulic system service parts.
Hydraulic Accumulator Spheres & Full Hydraulic Range
The hydraulic accumulator spheres store pressurised fluid to provide immediate braking response and suspension leveling — a discharged or failed sphere presents as a spongy brake pedal, sudden loss of brake pressure after the engine is switched off, or the car sitting low on one corner. We stock accumulator spheres, brake calipers, caliper seal kits, flexible hydraulic hoses, rigid brake lines, Girling hydraulic filters and all hydraulic system hardware for the Silver Shadow and Bentley T Series.
