Bentley & Rolls-Royce Halogen Headlight Upgrade Kit

Are the headlights on your classic Bentley or Rolls-Royce dim, yellowed or simply not providing adequate visibility for modern road use? Part number RDHAL is a direct-fit halogen headlight upgrade kit for Bentley MkVI, Bentley R Type, Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith and Silver Dawn — all models from 1946 to 1955.

The original headlights on these classic Crewe-built cars used pre-war era bulb technology that produces a weak, yellowish light output — acceptable when these cars were new but no longer adequate for safe nighttime driving on modern roads. This halogen upgrade kit replaces the original unit with a modern halogen bulb and adapted holder, delivering a significantly stronger, whiter light output while retaining the period-correct appearance of the original headlight housing.

What's included: Each kit contains a halogen bulb and an adapted bulb holder designed to fit directly into the existing headlight housing. No modifications to the housing are required.

Important wiring note: Originally these cars have three wires leading to the headlight — two positive and one negative. On most cars the chassis is also earthed, so the lights receive their earth connection through the body naturally. If your car does not have a chassis earth, you will need to have an earthing connector soft soldered to the bulb holder and the negative wire attached to it. If you are unsure, consult a specialist auto electrician familiar with positive earth wiring systems.
