Pro Tech Tip: If you see grease splattered on the inside of your front wheels, your CV boot has likely failed. Mandatory: Before installing the new 3W0498203A boot, thoroughly clean the CV joint with solvent to remove any grit that entered through the tear. If the joint "clicks" while turning, the internal bearings are already damaged, and a new boot will not fix the noise. Caution: Use only the specialized CV grease provided in the kit. Tip: Use a proper CV boot clamp tool to ensure the stainless steel bands are tight; a loose clamp will allow water to seep in, destroying the joint within months.
