Description

Genuine Bentley OEM Front Inner CV Boot Kit (3W0498201A). Featuring the updated 7-convolution design for superior heat resistance and flexibility, this kit protects the critical inner tripod joint of your front axle.

Ensure the long-term reliability of your front drivetrain with this Genuine Bentley Front Inner CV Boot Kit. Positioned closer to the engine and exhaust, the inner CV boot is subjected to significantly higher thermal stress than the outer boot. This authentic OEM kit (3W0498201A) is specifically engineered to handle those high-temperature environments while keeping essential high-pressure lubricant sealed within the joint.

This kit utilizes the revised 7-convolution design. This extra fold provides a larger surface area for heat dissipation and allows the boot to compress and expand during suspension travel without cracking or losing its seal. Using an inferior 6-convolution or universal aftermarket boot often results in premature failure due to the tight clearances and high torque of the W12 and V8 engines. This complete kit includes the heavy-duty boot, specialized lithium-molybdenum grease, and factory-spec Oetiker-style clamps.

Pro Tech Tip: Inner CV boots often fail due to exhaust heat making the rubber brittle. Mandatory: When replacing the 3W0498201A, always check the condition of the metal heat shields above the axle. If they are loose or missing, the new boot will fail prematurely. Caution: Do not overfill the boot with grease; use exactly the amount provided in the kit. Excess grease can cause the boot to balloon and rub against the chassis at high speeds. Tip: While the axle is out, this is the best time to inspect your inner transmission seals for leaks, as they are easily accessible during this job.
