Product Details & Fitment

Genuine axle pinion thrust bearing for specified 1953-1965 Rolls-Royce and Bentley models. Designed for later differentials using the taper-bearing pinion arrangement. Two bearings are required per axle.

Part number UG13550/1 is the genuine axle pinion thrust bearing for the specified 1953-1965 Rolls-Royce and Bentley models, including Silver Dawn, Silver Wraith, Silver Cloud I, II & III, Bentley R Type, R Type Continental, S1, S2 and S3.

This is the main pinion thrust bearing used in differentials from May 1953 onwards across the specified model range. The original part number for this bearing was RG6166, and two bearings are required per axle.

Earlier MkVI and R Type models were fitted with triple roller bearings RG4956P. Later taper-bearing pinions were introduced at specified chassis numbers, but the axle casing should be checked for the “TB” identification because some earlier chassis have been modified.

The pinion thrust bearings support the differential pinion and are important to the correct operation of the rear axle assembly. The later taper bearings are imperial, while the earlier triple roller bearings are metric, with differences in the corresponding pinion shaft and radius dimensions.

Please verify the axle casing identification, vehicle application, and bearing configuration before ordering to ensure correct fitment. Replacing the pinion thrust bearings can indicate that the axle requires a full rebuild, so professional inspection and installation are recommended.
